- start by measuring if people are using your new feature
- focus on how many UNIQUE users are using it and what percentage of your daily active users are using it
- look at you early adopters and leverage them to figure out how to improve your feature
- look for patterns in how people are using your new feature (this seems more exploratory and less like how to measure success)

- Customer/user satisfaction score
- use a 5 - 7 point scale to measure how customers feel about a new feature or functionality
- the scale should range from deeply dissatisfied to highly satisfied
- use a satisfaction survey via email/newsletter or in the app
- can also use NPS
- System usability scale
- use an emoji rating scale for users to rate the usability of the new feature
- Use a pop-up rating to capture how users feel about the feature
- Look at shares - in our case this could translate to exports when applicable
- Task Completion Rate
- can we somehow calculate the rate of task completion within out platform?
- requires having clearly laid out tasks & taskflows to track
- Google HEART framework
- Happiness = attitude of users in relation to the new deature (CSAT, NPS)
- Engagement = how involved a user is with the app
- Adoption = how many users have adopted the new feature
- Retention = measure of returning users
- Task success = amount of time it takes for users to complete task (not sure we can measure this one using UIQ right now)
- We should use a combination of qualitative and quantitive insights to measure the success of a new feature
- Important to understand WHAT we are measuring and WHY

- understand which metrics are most important to the business
- stakeholders need to help answer the following questions
- what are the business values of the new feature?
- how do we measure success of the new feature?
- brainstorm how to answer these questions when you’ve posed them to your stakeholder & they don’t have an answer - maybe tap Mark for this one
- define KPIs that are driven by design work (ex: task success rate) and these will be your metrics
- line up your design-based metrics with the business goals
